Tommy Cameron was just a little bit late, throwing Tommy a sheepish smile as he joined him at the table. "One of the kids was having a rough day, got kinda tied up. Sorry." |

Most days I have a sort of not-quite-acceptance about things that allows me to be functional in the present and not pissed off at the past or terrified of the future. Most days.
Then there are days like today when I end up with a kidney infection that doens't hurt (because I can't feel it) but does make me close to incontinent and miserable, and a visit with a doctor who insists on shoving the risks of pressure sores and loss of bone density down my throat.
Then I'm not functional because I'm pissed off at everything and terrified that I'm going to live long enough to *have* a future.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is my weekly whine.

Hello. My name's Jack.
I'd like to say that the introduction isn't necessary, but given how out of touch with everyone I've been -- Well, let's just say, I think a re-introduction's the least of what I owe folks.
What's been happening and what have I missed? In people's lives, not the city. |

Despite the rabid poultry I really enjoyed this Thanksgiving.
Going back to work seems so anti climatic. |

Closed Third Person Andre, ironically, did not go to either of the Thanksgivings to which he was invited. Because he had no idea what to do with two invitations and, unable to make a choice, went and volunteered at a soup kitchen instead.
People wanting to see him freaked him out. Being invited out of obligation freaked him out more. |

Jos The sink in Malorie's kitchen was filled with soap and water. Sam tested the water, made sure that it wasn't too hot, before he snapped on the yellow rubber gloves with a pensive look on his face. Well, this was certainly one way to make sure he stayed in one place.
Yes, he was thinking of killing a large number of turkeys, yes considering everything that happened it made sense that the people he loved wanted him to be safe.
On the other hand, he really wanted to kill some turkeys.
He sighed, and started to scrub his first place. "At least when I'm done with this, maybe I can actually have some pie." |

[Cass / closed] The last couple of years Sophus had spent his Thanksgiving at the soup kitchen. This year wasn't going to be any different - apart from his stopping by Cassidy's office on the way to drop off food. He knew her - chances were she'd be there. |

Mal Sam sighed as he sat on the examination table, grumbling softly as he answered another text that he wasn't dead, and yes, the turkeys killed him - Hah Hah Hah. He just wanted his clothes and he wanted to get out of here and kill some turkeys ...
Or at leas stab one viciously at the dinner table. His mother made it very clear that he was staying right where he was and he wasn't doing anything but BE with everyone he loved today.
Yeah, there was something he wanted to avoid. Or not. So complex, what went through his mind as he fell. He frowned at his phone, not really seeing it, lost in his own thoughts. |

Text Message to E. Sam Wow, you know the news just said you were killed by a turkey. You'd better correct that right away because I could die of laughter and that would suck. |

Early Morning News "...These attacking turkeys have already claimed the lives several people, including the life of Detective Samuel Tyler, of Tampa's 3rd District. According to eye-witnesses, Detective Tyler and a patrolman who cannot be reached for comment at this time, were investigating reports of an animal attack at Smythe and Weston, a local Tampa law firm. They were overwhelmed, and Detective Tyler was carried off by the horde, to be shoved through a window, where he fell six stories to his death..." |

FYI: I'm going home for Thanksgiving, so I'll be offline Thursday and most of Friday. Depending on the weather, I'll either come home Friday night or early Saturday afternoon.

Dear all,
I know a few of you are going to disappear today/tomorrow and possibly through the weekend, so!
Tomorrow's seven had to be Thanksgiving themed.
So the turkeys? Are after revenge. The bird you roast/have tucked in your freezer/whatever is going to remain unchanged but an army of live turkeys will invade the city and peck at/mob anyone out on the streets. They're not everywhere but they are plentiful enough.
Be careful out there, Tampa.
